We had a great dinner celebrating Valentine’s Day tonight. While I was setting the table we started talking about how long we have had these dishes. Bruce reminded me that our dinnerware was from our high fire stoneware days before we converted to electric. So that puts these dishes in the early 80’s. It’s amazing to realize that these dishes have lasted as long as we have been making pottery.
We have added a few different sets of dishes from other potters over the years. We enjoy the fact that our dishes are really strong and don’t ever chip. And we don’t ever seem to tire of them!
The dish on the right had some ochre added to the glaze which fired them green instead of blue. I remember that Bruce was upset they went green. Now 30 years later it doesn’t seem to matter. They are classic and just right!
